EXILE AKIRA Photobook "EXISTENCE"

AKIRA, who has matured as an artist in his 40s, is captured in this bold photobook by Osamu Nagahama, a master photographer known for his photobooks such as "HELL'S ANGELS" and "MY BLUES ROAD," as well as portraits of such leading figures as Ken Takakura, Yusaku Matsuda, Tatsuro Yamashita, Eikichi Yazawa, and Takeshi Kitano, in a powerful monochrome style. AKIRA has long admired Osamu Nagahama's work, and Nagahama also highly praised AKIRA's attitude as an artist, which is why this special collaboration was realized.

The title was decided as "EXISTENCE" because Osamu Nagahama said that he wanted to "capture the 'existence' of the person called AKIRA" when shooting the photobook. This photobook captures the moment when AKIRA, who has firmly established himself as the leader of EXILE and EXILE TRIBE, exists here and now.

Following the concept of "existence," the two pursued improvisation and reality in the studio, and realized a session full of manliness that only the two of them know. At the apparel shop TIMEWORN CLOTHING, which they visit privately, they also had a chat with their close friends. On the coastline, they showed off their well-trained bodies and rode a black horse. In the endless fields of silver grass and in the exotic town, they captured shots full of adventure like a road movie.

EXILE AKIRA has carved out his own path and lived a unique life unlike anyone else. This film, which deeply captures his way of life, is a book that gives viewers a sense of bubbling power.
