Lyricist Masato Odake brings out the "real RYOTA KATAYOSE" that even the man himself was not aware of
Lyricist Masato Odake has known RYOTA KATAYOSE well since before his debut, and writes lyrics for various artists as well as GENERATIONS.
A collection of letters addressed to each other by the two comrades-in-arms has been published, covering their first meeting, memorable events, stories of their respective families, and their views on love and marriage!
The exchange of letters, which began during the COVID-19 pandemic and was made possible because they could not meet in person, continues today. Guided by Odake, whom he respects and trusts wholeheartedly, KATAYOSE, who says this is his first time writing, frankly writes about the simple joys and honest anxieties he feels in his daily life, even as he struggles at times. This special book is chock-full of the "real RYOTA KATAYOSE," which could only be brought out by a "comrade-in-arms" he has known for the past ten years.
It also includes 16 pages of original gravure photos, which made Odake exclaim, "I've never seen Ryota like this!"
[Comment from RYOTA KATAYOSE]
This is my first book. There are some things that are a little embarrassing, but I think I was able to express my innermost thoughts with the help of Odake-san. Writing was not easy, and it was difficult to come up with anecdotes because I couldn't meet people due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as I accumulated feelings from the small things in my daily life, I feel like my everyday life has changed into a different landscape. The style of correspondence is not that long, so I think it is relatively easy to read. I hope you can take a peek at the part of me that is close to my true self that I can only show to people I trust.
[Comment from Masato Odake]
When I was working on Correspondence, I couldn't help but feel envious of RYOTA KATAYOSE's straightforward youth. His letters to me made me time travel to my past self many times. This is a book that I would like everyone living in the same era to read, including those who don't know us.
